You’ve heard of Madrid and Barcelona but have you ever heard of the most Game Of Thrones like city called Ronda? If you don’t know by now I’m a Pinterest addict, the proof is in my boards, and I had found Ronda on a random day scouring the web. Ronda was the last stop on our Spain trip so we hung out here for a few days. The city itself is marvellous and the views – I’ve never seen anything like them. It was pretty amazing. And the crazy part is the best view is owned by a hostel.
But if pretty photos isn’t enough to convince you that Ronda should be on your to see list then here are 5 reasons why you need to visit Ronda before it becomes a crowded tourist destination!
5 Reasons Why You Need To Visit Ronda
Puente Nuevo – This has the be the most Game Of Thrones like thing I have ever seen in my life. I felt like I was in Kings Landing (any other GOT nerds out there?). The bridge is breathtaking and I am not afraid to say this bridge was the only reason why I decided to go to Ronda. Once I saw that bridge on Pinterest I made sure that was on my to see list. The bridge is also stunning at dusk just before the sun goes down and also at night when it is all lit up!
Hiking – One of the coolest things about Ronda is that you can actually hike down to the bottom of the bridge! And once you’re done there you can hike back or stroll around the landscape and catch a new angle of the bridge. Once you’re at the bottom you can actually grasp how big and magnificent the bridge its!
Off The Beaten Track – I still believe Ronda is one of the lesser travelled cities and therefore is a gem to be seen before it gets too busy! So hurry before it becomes a popular tourist destination because the city is small and quant and I can’t imagine how the people will handle it if it becomes as popular as Paris or Rome.
The Wine – Ronda is also known for their amazing wine! If you’ve read any of my posts you will know that I like to drink wine like a refined woman (although I don’t really drink at all anymore). When you go out ask for a “Granda” wine and they should be able to help you out! Red and white are both nice and I hear there is even a wine museum in Ronda although I have never been.
The Landscape – The place is like a screensaver. When we first started making our way around Ronda it became hard to comprehend that all of this was REAL. I have never seen landscapes like this before so it was an amazing treat because I saw the bridge and that’s why I went. I didn’t really need anything more to entice me! My favourite thing was being able to hike down and sit on the grass and see the bridge. There was even a donkey beside us to make the moment even more cute. There is another post card spot if you find the two older bridges of Ronda as well!
