Wine And Rooftops In Calgary

There’s not many places to road trip to from Edmonton when you only have two days to spare, so naturally we decided to stay in Calgary, somewhere close to the mountains but also close to home (and by close I mean 3 hours haha). After searching through all the pages on Booking.com, because I’m obsessive like that, I found this luxurious condo for such a reasonable price. Btw if you’re going to book with Booking.com use my link here! That way we both get a lil something extra 😉

Ostays Mark On 10th was amazing. You guys probably here how sketchy some condos are to stay at, you never reallyyyy know what you’re going to get. At least that’s my experience.

The condo itself was in a perfect location. I really only booked it because I saw it had a balcony and all I envisioned was morning coffee views and sunset wine drinks, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found out how easy it was to explore downtown Calgary from here. Aaron and I drove here and it wasn’t a problem to stay in the visitor parking area. This way you don’t have to pay for parking if you happen to drive to Calgary as well. All you have to do is tell the condos staff and they’ll put your name down.

But the balcony and free parking wasn’t what sold me on this amazing condo..

To say the condo was perfect is an understatement. It was small, yet laid out well so it never felt cramped. And really, how much room do you need for a weekend? We arrived to find Keurig coffees and some sugar for the mornings which was a really nice touch. It’s that little peace of mind when you wake up you have your morning hit waiting for you, and can relax before you head off exploring.

There was all the comforts of home – a fridge, some wine glasses (yasssss) and a stovetop. There’s even in-suite laundry and a dish washer! You know you’re an adult when these things get you excited haha

Just below the condo is a place called Sucre. This cafe was great to head down to in the morning to grab some freshly made goodies. I mentioned it already in my Calgary post, you can read it here if you fancy, but again it was great. The had the best soy lattes so Aaron and I would pop down in the mornings and bring everything up to eat on our balcony.

Some other great places to eat are Bridgette Bar and Posto Pizzeria which are both walking distance! So convenient for when you’re starving (and a bit buzzed tbh).

Not only does your room come with a balcony, but there is a rooftop as well. On the 34th floor you’ll find a hot tub, an outdoor lounge area with a fire place and also an indoor lounge and a gym. Oh, and there’s a steam room and sauna as well. I think it was safe to say I had made the right decision with trying out this condo instead of a basic hotel room.

If you guys are looking for some great evening wear that’s not crazy expensive, check out Tobi because they usually have 50% off your first purchase. I have this gorgeous dress from Tobi and I couldn’t wait to wear it here! I felt so fancy and couldn’t think of a more perfect place to wear it. On Saturday Aaron and I decided to have a romantic date night so before dinner we opened a bottle of Prosecco and hung out on the rooftop with our wine and it was so much fun! I can’t believe we got so lucky to have the entire roof to ourselves.

I really recommend staying here because it is so calm and quiet and you can drink on the roof.

But I think my favourite things about Ostays Mark On 10th was the rooftop view. I am a SUCKER for rooftop views. I love it because you can be doing absolutely nothing and it feels like you are when you have an incredible view. I really like being somewhere I can just relax and absorb and being able to see the Rocky Mountains all around you is pretty breathtaking. I mean how could you tear yourself away from this?

The rooftop is what sold me on Ostays. On our last morning here I woke a sleepy Aaron up early to watch the sunrise and we had the whole roof to ourselves again. We had a morning dip in the hot tub and watched the morning sun wash over the mountains with our cups of coffee. It was so simple yet so romantic at the same time. Perfect for couples. I would absolutely book here again. You get all the comforts of home and the luxuries of a hotel in one.

This post was in collaboration with an amazing brand called Tobi. If you haven’t heard of them you can find their site HERE and you can find this beautiful halter dress HERE  🙂

Wow, this looks awesome! I’ve never been to Calgary (or Canada for that matter), but I woul love to someday. It’s definitely on my bucket list. I mostly prefer hotels over homestays, but that could just be because I don’t have any actual experience with homestays :). Lovele pictures.

Stunning. I prefer rentals to hotels any day. For me it’s about having the freedom to make a cup of coffee or a meal, whether I bother to cook or not is a whole other story – but the option is there. Also, rentals are almost always bigger than hotel rooms, which (in my price range at least) only have a bed and a small bathroom. Besides cleanliness, the non-negotiable of any place that I stay when travelling: enough place to lay out my yoga mat 🙂
