High Tea Bread At Bread & Roses

The other day we were walking to the Luxembourg Gardens when some cute little roses caught my eye. It was one of those classic Parisian scenes. Roses, ash trays and the smell of coffee filled my nose as we walked (I half sprinted) till we finally got there. As a foodie and lover of carbs and roses I was amazed to see Bread & Roses right outside the Luxembourg Gardens! I had seen this name pop up all over Tripadviser and Pinterest because I have a habit of researching “the best _____” in cities. In Paris’s case I happened to be Googling the best brunch, best cafe and the best breakfast in Paris when I started recognizing this Bread & Roses place. The only thing keeping me from here in the first place was the fact that it looked much farther away on an iPhone app that it actually was. It was just a quick 10 minutes walk from our apartment!

High Tea Bread At Bread & Roses

Aaron had never had a “real” French breakfast before – You know, the whole croissants with bread and jam deal, so when I saw this cute little sign I knew we had to have breakfast here!

For 6 Euro you can get a thick slice of high tea bread with a side of organic strawberry jam which was amazinggg. Because I’m a lover of food and coffee I also got a croissant and an espresso! You can’t beat a French croissant (even if you did just tell yourself that you wouldn’t be a piggy abroad. I can’t resist food!).

Aaron devoured his quickly as I tried to savour every bit of that delicious High Tea Bread. One of my favourite things about the meal was the jam! I have to say it was pretty scrumptious! It was fresh, not to sweet and was such an amazing pair with their homemade bread. I think a bread making class is in order.

Lucky for us it was around 8 in the morning so the cafe was close to empty besides up which made it that little bit more special. I would highly recommend trying their homemade bread and having some organic strawberry to go with it!
