How To Look Like A Model While You Travel

I’m not a model. About a foot too short and the grace that models seem to glide around with is something else I am short of. No pun intended. But because I’m height impaired doesn’t mean I can’t still pretend I am a model and try to look like one. Here’s how to look like a model while you travel so you can always look flawless.

How To Look Like A Model While You Travel:

Get Basic – Basic bitch style. Packing basic clothing will always work in your favour when it comes to travelling. Basic clothing allows you to get dressed up or down, look comfy or sleek and are much easier to style into different outfits. If you have a bright patterned shirt and only packed 4 shirts and are gone for two weeks how many times are you going to wear that bright shirt? And how many times is it going to appear in your photos? If you want to add pattern or colour try accessories, scarves or nail polish!

Plan Ahead – Pack a pair of staple jeans, some loose fitting tops, some tighter tank tops paired with a loose fitting cardigan or blazer overtop. These simple clothing matches allows you to change up your outfit while not over packing. Grab some dresses, skirts (always check the weather ahead of time) and some tights and use those to mix up your tops. Neutral colors and black and white will alway be classics and flattering.

Start A Pinterest Board – Hunt down some of your favourite models and pin what they wear to the airport or even search “street style.” You’ll notice they always look put together and are often spotted with only a few “loud pieces.”

Think About Your Hair – My hair ruins photos. It’s at that point where it’s so long it doesn’t hold a curl (or maybe I’m just to lazy to attempt again) so what are you supposed to do when you’re travelling and maybe don’t have a curler or the patience? YouTube. Here are some of my favourite hair videos to help you have that model hair! Here & Here

Keep Your Makeup Light And Fresh – Start with your base. Make sure your skin is cleansed and moisturized before applying makeup. Next it’s time for a tinted moisturizer or some BB Cream and some concealer. The key to having model skin is to keep it light and fresh. No cakeyness (how do you spell that?) unless you want it to be. Next fill in your brows, then lightly contour you cheeks or use bronzer to give some definition. Follow that by a light blush and hightligher on the high points of your cheeks and face. You are supposed to look dewy! After that put some mascara on and viola!

This is a perfect model base for you to work around with and you can go as light or as heavy with the makeup as you want.

Sunglasses – I think it’s like a rule if you are a celebrity or a model then you need to be wearing sunglasses at all times. Anyone agree? RayBans are my favourite but pick a pair and shape that best fit your face. Throw those babies on and head to the streets!

Own it – Lastly, you can’t look like a model without the model attitude. If you’re embarrassed about what you’re wearing don’t be – Who cares! When your 60 you’re going to be thinking I should have just wore the clothes because if you feel good, look good and walked out the door with confidence then you should be walking back into it with confidence.

People wish they had courage to wear what they want so just own it darling and keep your best face forward.

Great tips! Agree with the sunnies 100%, that’s my biggest need when taking photos and worried about how the photos will turn out!
I still very much need to let go a bit when photos are being taken because I do worry that I look like I’m trying too hard, but I want to not care so I can get amazing shots!

Same! The nicest photos that get taken of you are the ones where your eyes half blinking or something annoying haha. It’s so hard not to tense up and look natural! I find holding something in your hand like a cup of coffee helps you not feel less awkward :]

Awesome ideas. Love the basics, and to just not care what anyone thinks. Happy new year!

nice post, i might use some of your advices in future 🙂 i liked the point about “searching what celebrities wear to airport and etc” 😀 being admin of fan site about miley cyrus, demi lovato and beyonce, i always stalked many celebrities and their street style and loved their comfy outfits… 🙂 but i do not think that wearing sweatpants, boyfriend size t-shirts and flip flops through airport is somehow ideal, so i alwas keep it simple with leggins or not denim pants with comfortable t-shirt or tank top with cardigan or hoodie 🙂 🙂 thanks for your tips! now only to have somebody who would take photos of me 😀

They always look so good in their comfy clothes! They just through on leggings and a shirt and look amazing. I feel you it’s nice when you’re in fashionable clothes at the airport and not in pi’s and hoodies. Haha ask strangers! Tell them it’s for your mom that’s what I used to do ;P
