How To Make Your Morning A Stress-Free Experience

If you have been following Fernweh for a while you’ll know just how important mornings are to me. I love being able to wake up before dawn and to start my days as relaxinggggg as possible because sometimes I think I am fueled off of anxiety alone which isn’t good. Having a stress-free morning to me is being able to make a big cup of coffee, get cozy on the couch, warm up some oatmeal and not worry about a thing! Here are some things I do to make my morning a stress-free experience 🙂

Give Yourself Time

I have a few posts on how to have a relaxing morning and why getting up at five has changed my life but what I always say is leave yourself some time in the morning. No one likes waking up, scrambling around to get dressed, and then making the commute to work. Even when I travel I resist the urge to sleep in. What’s more lovely than being abroad, waking up as the sun rises, and brewing a coffee while the city sleep? Your morning should be full of zen and positive vibes to carry you through the day.

Wash Your Dishes Before Bed

I only recently started doing this and it makes such a difference! How crappy is it when you wake up and see a stack of dishes that needed “soaking” waiting for you? I always wash them before bed time even when I don’t want to. Which trust me, is like, 90% of the time. It takes two minutes and will leave you with a nice clean sink for when you wake up! It’s the little things.

Lay Out Your Clothes

If you need to look nice the next day plan your outfit! This saves you time in the morning so you can actually enjoy your cup of coffee instead of stressing about what to wear. I know I will chose about 6 different outfits and start stressing out. It really kills time in the mornings. Planning outfits also saves your bedroom from looking like mayhem when you get home! If you can’t decide on one outfit lay out a few and choose one in the morning while your brain is half sleeping 🙂

Prepare Food The Night Before

Being rushed in the morning will definitely add unnecessary stress. If you are short on time when you wake up then prepare your breakfast the night before. Try making some healthy muffins, overnight oats, or just stick with the basics and make sure you have some toast and avocado or peanut butter laying around. If you’re going to work then plan your lunch ahead of time!

Side note: omg I’m leaving to China in less than a week! Sooooo nervous it’s going to be so different from anything I’ve done. Have you guys travelled there? I would love some tips! Share in the comments <3

If I could do all of that, I would be a different person. However, prepping food in advance sure seems like a great idea.

Ooh I really need to start doing this!! Great tips, if you get everything done the night before, you can just chill and take your time in the morning. Sadly I always plan on starting tomorrow! xxx

These are all perfect tips! People who try to do work and chores in the morning that could have easily been done the night before always seem so tired out during the day. When you wake up you want to be relaxed and not worry about moving and working too much. Also, I feel like when you do everything at night and you some people feel exhausted after, but that can help people sleep better and more deeply. 🙂
