The Best Breakfast in Calgary : OEB

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. Nothing’s better than waking up, having a nice refreshing meal and a cup of good coffee to start your day. Being a smoothie lover and kind of a food snob I always want to make sure the places I eat are delicious and of quality. So before heading out to the nearest food place I research the best cafes and restaurants in the area. Sometimes the places are all talk and a bust but the majority of the time it pays off. After much research, googling and Instagram creeping I found OEB – Over Easy Breakfast.

Let me tell you not only is the coffee amazing but the food is all the hype. Usually lined out the door OEB is a local hotspot with an almost overwhelming menu to go with it. Proudly only serving fresh local food the menu varies from Croque Madame, Truffled Squash, Chilled Greek Yogurt with Warm Banana Bread, Bennies served with browned butter hollandaise and fresh fruit, Warm Pumpkin Bread, sweet and savoury crepes.. the list is endless!

In 2012, OEB was nominated Best Brunch by Where Magazine and was voted best brunch for 2013/2014 by the Calgary Herald readers choice awards. With all that you know it must be good!

Wanting something light I opted for the chilled greek yogurt and had no regrets. It was loaded with fruit like bananas, strawberries and blueberries and served with warm banana bread. Not to mention the honey drizzled granola underneath the mound of fruit. Yum.

With an easy location to find OEB is sure to be a great brunch spot for anyone passing through.

What’s your favourite breakfast place?!
