Okay.. I love food. It’s no secret.
Being from Edmonton, a random city in Canada, I admit there isn’t a whole lot to do here but eat. We have good food. Some of the best I’ve had in the world! And Zinc is definitely one of those places. One of Edmonton’s finest fine dining restaurants you are provided with freshly cooked meals, a seasonal menu and if you don’t see something you like? Ask the chef what they can do for you and watch them cook you something unique and delicious.
When Aaron asked where I wanted to go for our anniversary it was a no brainer choice. We had been there once before and fell in love.
Adjoined to Edmonton’s Art Gallery, Zinc provides a sophisticated ambiance that screams class and good food but it is also a relaxed environment. Floor to ceiling windows (35 ft to be exact), a backlit bar, black leather chairs, a simple menu and an extensive wine list.
We started off with cauliflower croquettes and a bottle of Kim Crawford. There summer vegetarian dish was a bit heavy for me so I asked if they were able to combine two dishes for me – a grilled vegetable salad and the gorgonzola mushroom with bing cherry gastrique and they did! After dinner we ordered their famous Banana Bread Pudding and it was unreal. I didn’t even get a photo before I ate it! Clearly I was too excited.
Whether you are looking for something special for your anniversary, a birthday or even looking for a relaxed lunch Zincs atmosphere is both classy and easy going. With good food, good service and great atmosphere it’s hard not to see why Zinc is my favourite fine dining restaurant in my little home of Edmonton.
